opensuse MythTV latest (trunk) RPMs

I run MythTV on opensuse. As I do like to check out how the new development with MythTV is going ahead I have scripted together a SPEC file from other suse RPMs that downloads the latest SVN version and compiles it into my custom RPMs. Today I finally got it to work with the 12490 revision. I have uploaded the SPEC file.

Whats new?

  • First the MythDVD plug-in was removed and merged with MythVideo. That makes one less RPM to keep track of.
  • MythZoneminder is a new plug-in that enables MythTV to use the capabilities of ZoneMinder, a Closed-circuit television (CCTV) application.

The SPEC

The most current SPEC file can be found here. You can define within the file what plugins you want to build. MythWeb is not working as a plugin jet, so you need to copy it manualy to /srv/www/htdocs on your machine.

To use the SPEC copy it to /usr/src/packages/SPECS/

Then run: "rpmbuild --bb /usr/src/packages/SPECS/mythtv-updates-trunk.spec > /var/log/buildmyth.log 2>&1"

After that you can follow the output of the building process by typing: "tail -f /var/log/buildmyth.log -n 100"

If you are missing dependencies download them from guru or packman.
