This is a nice command line that uses the exiftool to sort all pictures in “oldplace” to sub directories defined by the original time and date that the picture was taken. It is also a nice way of removing duplicates.

exiftool -r -d newplace/%Y/%m/%d/%H-%M-%S.%%e "-filename < datetimeoriginal" oldplace
