Farm Sync is a free, open-source Android app that backs up and synchronises save files of the game Stardew Valley between your own devices. It is a hobby project by Elkin Fricke and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ConcernedApe, Chucklefish or Google.
What data the app handles
- Your Stardew Valley save files on the device where the app is installed: the game’s own files in its
Savesfolder. The app reads them to show your farms and to make backups. With your confirmation it writes them back, for example when you restore a backup or sync a newer day. - Backups (“snapshots”) of those save files, stored in the app’s private storage on your device.
- Google Drive (optional): if you turn on sync, the app stores copies of your save files in a folder it creates in your own Google Drive.
- Your Google account e-mail address: shown in the app so you can see which Drive account sync uses.
What the app does NOT do
- It does not send any data to the developer or to any third party.
- It contains no advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting services.
- It does not read, list or change any other files in your Google Drive.
Google Drive access and Google user data
Farm Sync asks only for the Google permission drive.file. This lets the app see and change only the files and folders it created itself; it cannot see anything else in your Drive.
The data is used only to provide the backup and sync feature you turned on. It is never sold, used for advertising, or shared with anyone.
Farm Sync’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where data is stored
- On your devices: in the game’s folder and in the app’s private storage.
- In your Google Drive: in the app’s own folder (
Farm Sync).
The developer has no access to either.
How to delete your data
- App data on a device: uninstall Farm Sync. This deletes its snapshots. Your game saves stay untouched.
- Data in Google Drive: delete the
Farm Syncfolder in your Drive. - Revoke Drive access: go to myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove “Farm Sync”.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
Changes to this policy will be published on this page with a new date.
